The Dozer 1T-UL is BCA's lightest avalanche shovel. A cored-out blade and thinner-walled 7075 aluminum bring it down to 0.96 lb (435 g), so you barely notice it on the climb or the sled, and you still have a full 9 x 10.5 in blade when it's time to dig.

The shaft isn't round. BCA was the first to build an avalanche shovel with a non-round shaft to stop it breaking while you pry, and the concave sides give your palm a better grip. The flat stomp edge lets you put body weight into dense debris. It extends with a T-grip, is UIAA 156 certified, and is backed by a 3-year BCA warranty.

Smooth front third of the blade for clean snowpit walls during stability tests
Auto-engaging spring pins for fast, hands-free assembly
Lies flat in your pack with no protruding ferrule or neck

A shovel is one third of the rescue kit. Carry it with a beacon and a probe, and get avalanche training before you rely on any of it.
