Alpinestars SM-3 Solid Helmet is engineered to set new standards for off-road riders who demand cutting-edge safety and all-day comfort. Its thermo-injected outer shell uses a special polymer blend with varied thicknesses to optimize impact protection while keeping weight low, working together with a multi-piece, multi-density EPS liner to manage energy across different impact zones. The inner and outer surfaces are shaped to reduce the effects of oblique impacts, and Alpinestars’ Rotational Acceleration Force Protection system adds a patented low-friction coating to the inner EPS to help limit rotational forces from angled hits.
Ventilation is maximized with around 10 intake and 7 exhaust ports to promote strong airflow and effective heat transfer during intense motos and trail rides. Inside, an eco-friendly comfort liner made from recycled materials, along with removable, washable crown and cheek pads, provides a secure, customizable fit, and integrated hydration tube channels in the cheek pads support longer off-road days. A patented visor release system is designed to shear the visor away with a controlled amount of force to reduce neck loads in a crash, while an emergency release cheek pad system, double D-ring chin strap, and dual DOT/ECE 22.06 certification round out a helmet built for modern off-road protection and comfort.
